The Gunyan's have put in 29 hours of volunteer work on guzzler repair this summer. They discovered many guzzlers in the Cedar Canyon, Jack Morrow Hills, and Steamboat Mountain areas. These areas are located north of Rock Springs in the area known as the Sands. Most of these guzzlers are used by mule deer, elk, and antelope. For more information or are interested in helping, contact Cliff Folkerts @ 307-870-8306.
Stop Poaching Signs

The chapter purchased 22 signs that display the new hotline number for the Wyoming Game & Fish Department with the 2007 funds. The signs will be displayed in many of the winter ranges and high poaching areas. With the signs displayed in the field, people will be able to have the number available in case of any crimes to report.
Deer Mortality Survey

The WGFD conducted their usual mortality survey near Kemmerer, Wyoming. The chapter members volunteered their time in helping count the mule deer mortality for the winter of 2007. This winter range has the highest mortality in the state. The winter of 2007 had one of the highest deer mortalities in the last decade.
Litter Control

The Chapter purchased a 2 mile stretch on US 191 North for litter control. It was in section on the Pinedale Mule Deer Herd's winter range and the Jonah Field. The volunteers spent time in the spring 2008 picking up litter along the highway as well as the surrounding areas.
Women's Hunter Safety Class

Chapter volunteers helped with the Women's Hunter Safety Class and developed the class with the WGFD in Green River, Wyoming. The volunteers participated in safety gun handling and in the field safety.
This should be a yearly event, if interested contact us.
Healthy Lands Initiative

Shell contributed $500,000 to the HLI, a program that conserves habitat, sustains wildlife, and benefits local economies and communities. The project involves several landowners along with conservation and grazing organizations, including the Mule Deer Foundation. Josh, Joey, and MDF CEO Miles Moretti (pictured left, with Wyoming Governor Dave Fruedanthal) attended the the signing of the program in Farson, Wyoming. The Muley Fanatic Chapter was present to show the local support of the program. It will enhance and conserve a significant amount of land in the Upper Green River Basin. The signing also involved the Wyoming Wildlife and Natural Resource Trust, Wyoming Ranch Agriculture, Wildlife Planning, Management Project, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, and the Rock Springs Grazing Association.

The Muley Fanatic Chapter is looking towards a mini-camp for youths and maybe some new hunters. It would be a day camp for knowledge of firearms, outdoors, and hunting. With a partnership with the local Game & Fish, this will be a great opportunity for youths and new hunters. Stay tuned for updates.

The chapter is looking to find ways of more Hunter Safety Classes. The members are interested in becoming instructors to obtain courses, as well as the help of the Game & Fish.
